Test for homogeneity with unordered paired observations

چکیده

In some applications, an experimental unit is composed of two distinct but related subunits. The response from such a (X1,X2) we observe only Y1=min{X1,X2} and Y2=max{X1,X2}, i.e., the subunit identities are not observed. We call (Y1,Y2) unordered paired observations. Based on observations {(Y1i,Y2i)}i=1n, interested in whether marginal distributions for X1 X2 identical. Testing methods available literature under assumptions that Var(X1)=Var(X2) COV(X1,X2)=0. However, by extensive simulation studies, when one or both violated, these have inflated type I errors much lower powers. this paper, study likelihood ratio test statistics various scenarios explore their limiting without restrictive assumptions. Furthermore, develop Bartlett correction formulae to enhance precision sample size large. Simulation studies real-data examples used illustrate efficacy proposed methods.

Outlier test for a group of multivariate observations

Assume that we have m independent random samples each of size n from Np(; ) and our goal is to test whether or not the ith sample is an outlier (i=1,2,…..m). To date it is well known that a test statistics exist whose null distribution is Betta and given the relationship between Betta and F distribution, an F test statistic can be used. In the statistical literature however a clear and preci...

O’Brien Test for Homogeneity of Variance

The homogeneity of variance assumption is one of the critical assumptions underlyingmost parametric statistical procedures such as the analysis of variance and it is important to be able to test this assumption. In addition, showing that several samples do not come from populations with the same variance is sometimes of importance per se. Among the many procedures used to test this assumption, ...

Homogeneity Test for Correlated Binary Data

In ophthalmologic studies, measurements obtained from both eyes of an individual are often highly correlated. Ignoring the correlation could lead to incorrect inferences. An asymptotic method was proposed by Tang and others (2008) for testing equality of proportions between two groups under Rosner's model. In this article, we investigate three testing procedures for general g ≥ 2 groups. Our si...

On learning with kernels for unordered pairs

We propose and analyze two strategies to learn over unordered pairs with kernels, and provide a common theoretical framework to compare them. The strategies are related to methods that were recently investigated to predict edges in biological networks. We show that both strategies differ in their loss function and in the kernels they use. We deduce in particular a smooth interpolation between t...

Friedman's test with missing observations

Friedman’s test is used traditionally in statistics for testing independence between k orderings (k > 2). In the paper we suggest how to generalize Friedman’s test for situations with missing information or non-comparable outputs.
